Safe Trading Tips

Business Network is a professional B2B marketplace. Follow these guidelines to verify sellers, protect your money, and complete every deal with confidence.

6 Rules of Safe B2B Trading

Verify Before You Deal

Look for the Verified Business badge. Verified sellers have been reviewed by our admin team. Check their profile, rating, and past reviews before committing.

Meet in Person for Big Deals

For high-value transactions — machinery, property, bulk goods — always visit the seller's premises. Inspect the product, verify ownership, and get everything in writing.

Get Everything in Writing

A signed purchase order, GST invoice, or agreement protects both parties. Never transfer money based on a verbal promise or WhatsApp message alone.

Use Traceable Payments

Pay via bank transfer, UPI, or cheque — never cash for large amounts. Traceable payments give you a legal paper trail if a dispute arises.

Spot Red Flags Early

Prices far below market rate, pressure to pay quickly, refusal to share GST/address, or asking you to move outside the platform are all major warning signs.

Keep Communication on Platform

Use the built-in Message Seller feature to keep a documented trail. Conversations on the platform can serve as evidence in case of disputes.

Always Do

  • Always verify the seller's business profile and reviews before making any payment.
  • Prefer in-person meetings at the seller's registered business address for large deals.
  • Request official invoices, GST bills, or purchase agreements before finalising.
  • Use traceable payment methods — bank transfers, UPI, or cheque — not cash for high-value deals.
  • Check for the blue "Verified Business" badge on the listing — it means admin-reviewed.
  • Ask for product samples, demos, or factory visits for bulk or machinery orders.
  • Save all conversation history via the in-app Message Seller chat as a record.
  • Confirm delivery terms, return policy, and warranty in writing before paying.

Never Do

  • Never pay an advance to an unverified seller you have not met or verified.
  • Do not share your OTP, bank credentials, or Aadhaar with any seller or buyer.
  • Avoid deals that pressure you with "limited time" urgency or prices far below market.
  • Do not click unknown payment links sent outside the platform via WhatsApp or SMS.
  • Never share full financial documents (bank statements, ITR) before signing an NDA.
  • Do not finalise a deal based on screenshots or photos alone — always inspect goods.
  • Avoid sellers who refuse to provide a GST number or registered business address.
  • Do not pay entirely upfront for first-time bulk orders — negotiate milestone payments.

What does "Verified Business" mean?

Admin-reviewed trust signal

Businesses marked with the Verified Business badge have been manually reviewed by the Business Network admin team. This means their documents, business address, and ownership details have been cross-checked. While verification reduces risk, it does not guarantee the quality or outcome of every transaction — always follow safe trading practices regardless.
